Threshold  |  Encounter
A participatory immersive theatre experience by Geoffrey Schön.
An invitation to encounter the symbolic life of objects, space and your own imagination through quiet participation.
Threshold Encounter is a lantern-lit immersive experience with objects, silence, gentle movement, and one crossing. You arrive after dark, receive a small light, and enter a transformed room. There, you make a temporary place for your body and the objects you brought: a nest, altar, shelter, or small world.
Something is offered. Something unknown is received. A threshold appears. You cross it, then return to the world you made, seeing it changed. Nothing needs to be performed or explained.
The experience is quiet, but not solemn; playful, but not casual. It is a space for attention, imagination, and the hidden life of things.

The Threshold
“Threshold Encounter felt like an encounter with my own designed world that wants to speak to me.”
          ~Mary

"The whole room became a living sandtray.
Right away my lantern lit up the ‘crystal’ goblet. I reached for it and upon taking a closer look, saw that it was a skull! For the briefest moment I considered putting it back. But then I embraced it fully."
          ~Donna O.
“It was like a lucid dream combined with guided meditation combined with a mushroom trip without the mushrooms.

It made me think of all of the thresholds we cross without even noticing… I wanted to be more aware of thresholds day to day."
          ~Deb P.

“…an unpressured ritual with objects that will not leave you the same… Best $20 I’ve spent.”
          ~Jill
